Welcome everyone,
The first two Everest of Apples Futsal Tournaments, deservingly won by eShout and Regina of Shichinohe respectively, were such huge successes that on April 7th, at the Aoi-mori Arena in Aomori city, we will hold our third annual Futsal Tournament. The aim of the day is to have a great day where local and foreign teams can mix and play together, but you will also be contributing to the future of the children of Hetauda, Nepal.
Everest of Apples (EofA) is a charity organization run by participants of the JET Programme and supports the Prajwal School in Nepal. In 2005 and 2006, the EofA Futsal Tournaments raised money for buying a new plot of land, on which EofA and our friends have built a new school for the children of Prajwal. Visiting in January 2006, four members of EofA saw first-hand what our funding has achieved. With the proceeds of the 2007 Futsal Tournament we hope to continue work towards completing the building.
This tournament will be a great opportunity to have fun and play soccer for a good cause. There will be JET teams from Aomori, teams from Misawa Air Base High School, as well as local high school and amateur teams. This will be a great international event to attend as a player, volunteer, or as a spectator. There will also be a small shop with Nepalese crafts, information about EofA, and other activities throughout the day. Finally, we are planning an after-party in Aomori City for everyone involved in the tournament.
We hope all of you will enjoy the tournament. Your participation will be greatly appreciated, and we would like to thank you on behalf of the students and teachers of the Prajwal School in Nepal.
